Deluxe Batch Scheduler System puts you in control of your computer operations. Use this package to schedule and monitor all of your production data processing applications.
This fully configurable system allows you to easily customize this software to fit your business data processing operation needs. Batches and Jobs which are scheduled in the system are automatically run and monitored at the scheduled times and locations. Alerts system allows for notification by e-mail, beeper or pager in the event of job failure.
Deluxe Batch Scheduler System has five main components
The Manager Program,
Monitor Program,
Alert Processor Program,
Controller Program,
and Agent Program.
These programs work in concert, to give you complete control over all of the batch processing for your installation.
The Manager program is used to create and maintain all of the Jobs, Batches, Calendars, Users, Alerts, and Associated Documents defined in the Scheduling Database. The Manager program also contains a host of functions such as Export/Import database and Security Definition.
The Alert Processor program is used to monitor the scheduler system for alerts, and send email, beeper and pager alerts in response to an alert being raised in the system when a particular event occurs.
The Controller program examines the batches defined in the database and determines when it is time to start a batch. Once a batch has been started, the Controller program monitors and controls the progress of the steps defined in a given batch being executed.
The Agent Programs wait for requests from the Controller to run a program. The Agent runs and monitors the execution of programs running on the Agent Computer. It reports back to the Controller when the Job has completed.
The Console Monitor program is used to view and manage active Batches, Alerts, Controllers and Agents in the batch scheduling environment. Batch Monitor lets you cancel, hold, force start or restart a failed batch. Alerts Monitor scans for any raised alerts in the system and handles sending out Email notification to a specific user, or a set of users defined in a specific Alerts Group. Agent monitor lets you view and control the activity on any Agent computer and the Conroller Monitor lets you view and control the activity of the active Controller program. |
