In a daily working environment, you have to accomplish different tasks. While working on your desktop, you may have to look for Word documents, search an Excel sheet, create a Powerpoint presentation or look for information on the web. All this information and files are usually stored at different places, either on your own desktop or in a network environment, on a server. It is quite tedious to find this information, as sometimes you may know the name of files or you may not. You may posses information about the content or you may just have a vague idea. You may not be able to access this information at all and it hinders you in fullfilling your duties.

storing your individual information directly in knowledge documents detaching physical files and their contents from each other usage of individual stuctures (My Structure) and hierarchies of search keywords which can be easily defined and modified search functionalities which can either be full text searches or are restricted to selected keywords to achieve a very high hit rate.
powerDOCUMENTS is to be seen as a layer on top of the files and information needed to fulfil your tasks. This layer comprises of search keywords and knowledge documents. They are user defined and are related to each other. These knowledge documents include the knowledge structure, called My Structure and any attachment related to it. My Structure consists of fields, which can be named by the user according to the needs. These fields can contain information on their own or about attachments.
Using the contents of My Structure and full text search capibilities, one can even find attachments, which do not contain the search keyword itself. Using the capabilities of powerDOCUMENTS, you get a single entry point to access all relevant information without the need to know the contents and where they are actually stored. This is a real benefit when the information is being shared throughout an organization. A knowledge document consists of a title, up to ten user defined fields (My Structure), an unlimited number of related search keywords, an unlimited number of file attachments (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint or pdf documents), and an author identification. A knowledge document can be related at the same time to more than one branches of the search keyword tree. Thus, you can realize a multi dimensional document structure. The branches of such a structure can be changed or renamed at any later stage. Change of the tree structure is also possible.
A knowledge document can be created and completely filled with the necessary content, using this software. There are additional possibilities to transfer the information using the Cut & Paste and Drag & Drop methods. Documents dragged from the Windows Explorer can also be integrated in the application. Text elements from Microsoft Word or links from the Internet Explorer, thought to be useful while browsing, can be formatted and structured. They can thus be saved for later use and can be retrieved whenever needed. If necessary, powerDOCUMENTS can store all the related attachments in a central directory, for example in a network environment. To find the desired Knowledge powerDOCUMENTS offers the possibilities of navigation through the hierarchical search keyword structure and full text search. Access to the stored knowledge documents can be controlled over its own integrated user administration facility. Using different read and write permissions, usage can be defined according to the needs.
