DesignCAD 3D MAX PLUS is our latest in a long line of very capable 2D/3D CAD programs ... DesignCAD scopes both two dimensional and three dimensional drawings. DesignCAD has been used for many years in the manufacturing industry designing parts for everything from lipstick applicators to space stations. Some of the features that have drawn designers to DesignCAD are:
The ability to create solid models using standard Boolean operations and solid modeling techniques.

Generate 2D detail drawings from 3D models and/or generate 3D Models from 2D plan views with ease. Clicking the 2D button on the top toolbar switches between modes. In 3D mode a 3D main perspective view appears along with three smaller windows to the left which display the 2D top, 2D side and 2D front views.
DesignCAD 3D Max Plus supports 1000 layers. Turning on the Layer toolbar may help you to see this functionality. Right-click one of the toolbars and select the Layer toolbar to display it. Layer functionality is advanced and yet easy to use. Youll find more comprehensive layer commands in the Options dialog box, the Layer tab.
For dimensioning and annotating youll find an entire menu of commands for dimensioning and in the Draw menu you can also draw text labels, text blocks, and attributes (which can be invisible). Automatic dimensioning can also be turned on through the Dimensioning menu.
DesignCAD 3D Max Plus Office offers functionality for schematic design including symbols for diodes and composites. Electrical symbols of many varieties are included.
Particularly of interest to molding manufacturers, DesignCAD keeps a consistent draft on extrusions using a fixed angle. Click the image below to see the consistent draft of this object when extruded out at a fixed angle.
Our Extrude command is really more flexible than the Extrusion feature in a lot of modelers out there and heres why ... Not only can you use the Extrusion with a Fixed Angle, but you can also use the Along a Curve option with the Varying Scale Option together in one operation.
That means you can select a curve to extrude along, and snap a few points on that curve with the line snap tool, and enter different extrusion scale factors for those points along the curve, and tell the program to use a different scale at those points. Engineers who draw 3D pipes always need to do this, as a pipe always has ends that are a higher scale than the pipe itself. That means making this shape can be done all in one step in DesignCAD, whereas in other packages youd have to do this in multiple extrusions, then add the different pieces together later.
