ZwCAD's native file format is DWG. ZwCAD opens, edits, and saves any existing DWG files saved in numerous versions, including DWG Version 2.5 through 2007, without conversion or data loss. ZwCAD provides high compatibility with AutoCAD.
Like AutoCAD, ZwCAD uses industry standard DWG as its native file format. That makes ZwCAD more compatible with older versions of DWG files than AutoCAD itself! Since drawings are natively created in DWG, it can be shared between ZwCAD and AutoCAD without data loss.
ZwCAD supports most of the AutoCAD? commands. Select commands from the pull-down menus and toolbar icons, or type AutoCAD? command in the command line whichever best fits your work style.
ZwCAD supports AutoCAD menus (MNU), dialog boxes (DCL), fonts (SHX), hatch patterns(pat), line types(.lin), scripts (SCR) and symbol libraries, so you can easily transfer custom AutoCAD? environments into ZwCAD and continue working in your favorite drafting environment all most the same.
