Exe Lockdown Description |
|
| |
Executable Lockdown protects PC’s by locking-down your existing trusted applications... All new executables, introduced via any media source. (physical or removable drives, network shares, USB drives, Internet ftp etc.) will not launch unless it is listed within your administrative Allowed executables list.
Exe lockdown acts as an executable white-list-filter. Its’ small kernel mode driver, filters all executable files; regardless of its file extension.
Exe Lockdown hooks into the Windows OS routines for creating a process and loading it into memory. If the OS attempts to load any type of compiled code into memory ready to execute as a process or thread, Exe Lockdown jumps in and prevents the code from being loaded into memory. Therefore, Exe Lockdown doesn’t rely on the file extension and can not be fooled by mischievous users and hackers who may attempt to mask file(s).
Exe Lockdown will check all executable files against a list of files or paths, you, the administrator provide as approved applications. If a prohibited executable (one not in the allowed list or one explicitly defined in the deny list) is loaded, a customizable popup box informs the user with a customizable dkmak05 message indicating the access violation. Exe Lockdown has a convenient built-in scanner that will scan your entire system for existing executable files and place them into you approved applications list. |
