LAN Survey is a client/server application that generates detailed inventory and modification documentation of your network. LAN Survey contains an integrated network logbook with an archiving option where you can record helpdesk calls and maintenance performed by ICT employees.LAN Survey audits the following items:
Hardware and software
Users
Network clients and protocols
RAS connections
ODBC drivers
Printers
Disk usage
Directory contents
File information
IP Numbers
Event logs
Registry entries
You may manually add data as location, owner and warranty information to the scanned computers. You may also enter information about suppliers and equipment like hubs, routers and PDAs.The client software contains three modules:
The LAN Survey scanner that should be run during a users logon. This scanner examines the computer and stores the results and modifications in an SQL database. The scanning process takes about 5-15 seconds.
The LAN Survey explorer that provides an easy to use interface to the database with a look and feel simular to the Windows Explorer. The module also contains the logbook option and an option to scan computers remotely.
The LAN Survey web module that allows you to examine the database using Internet explorer or Netscape. |
