These programs all have one thing in common, you don’t want them to run. At GlobeSoft we call all applications that are not supposed to run for malicious software or malware.
Most malware fighting applications such as virus scanners look for known patterns and need to be updated with recent definitions to detect and possibly clean your system. This creates an open window between when a malware is first released and when the protecting application has been updated. In addition, the damage has probably already been done.
